Access Cards
All MAH practice students will be issued with an access card following successful completion of the relevant Health and Safety Module on Canvas (with the exception of Art History and Liberal Arts students who are not required to complete a H&S module). Your access card will be programmed to give you access to the facilities you are assigned for your course or module, and this will vary depending on your subject area.
In 2025-26, all first-year students will receive one of the new multi-purpose cards, which will serve as their ID card, Library card and access card for academic facilities. These cards can be collected by students, with proof of ID, from the Student Centre Helpdesk.
Returning students can continue to use their separate ID and access cards as normal.
CCP, Music, Journalism and Drama Students
During the first two weeks, if you are studying in CCP, Music, Journalism or Drama, you will be offered a tour of the facilities with a member of the MAH Technical Services team, and at the end of the tour you will be asked to complete the H&S Module on Canvas, following which you will be required to activate your access card. If you cannot attend your tour, you can complete the H&S Module in your own time.
To activate your ID/access card, you will need to visit the Drop-in Helpdesk in room 34 in the Jubilee building during the week between the hours of 8am-10am and 1pm-3pm.
During welcome week (22/09/25 - 26/09/25), the Drop-in Helpdesk will be open from 8:00am to 12:00pm and 1:00pm to 3:00pm, returning to normal working hours the following week.
Art History and Liberal Arts Students
If you are studying Art History or Liberal Arts, your multi-purpose ID/access card can be collected, with proof of ID, from the Student Centre Helpdesk.
