The Veg Bowl @ Dhaba is a small yet vibrant, fully vegetarian cafe in the heart of campus on the ground floor of the Arts C building, next to Silverstone and Arts B. Check opening times, food options and the dining style.

About The Veg Bowl @ Dhaba

The Veg Bowl @ Dhaba is the University’s dedicated vegan and vegetarian outlet, serving vegan loaded salads, veggie poke bowls, bahn mi sandwiches and noodle soups. The café runs pop-ups on a Wednesday featuring Laksa, dal bowls, and vegetarian tiffin-box curries from local Brighton supplier .

The regular menu includes produce harvested from the hydroponic farm in the café - transforming food miles into literal steps. 

The café serves  barista-quality coffee, and matcha. Since September 2025, disposable coffee cups are not available at this café. We recommend bringing your own cup or joining our returnable cup scheme. 

The Veg Bowl @ Dhaba is a space for staff and students to eat, meet and work.

Key information

Inside

The cafe has an assortment of tables and chairs near to a service counter. The café can accommodate medium sized groups, making it ideal for small gatherings. The café is also a calm environment that is great if you're looking for a peaceful space. 

Outside

A shaded square that leads to Arts C and the Silverstone building is scattered with large benches. It’s a great spot for larger groups in the spring and summer.
